My Favorite Things at Disney

Writer's picture: Aspen BrookeAspen Brooke

Disney World. One of the places that I can go to a million times and still feel just as excited every time. Going as a child was one of my favorite things, and I dreamed of being a Disney princess. Now, going as an adult, I still dream of being a Disney princess. Yes it is extremely expensive and it calls for a lot of planning now that there are fastpasses, reservations, new lands in the parks, etc. But to me, I feel like it is a trip that everyone needs to take, even if it is just once. It is such a magical experience for people of all ages.

So in this blog im going to be talking about my PERSONAL favorite things to do at Disney World, the things that I think are worth it! Everyone’s opinions are different of course and I think it all depends on your age, so these are just the opinions of a younger adult.

Starting with the classic and timeless, MAGIC KINGDOM. Magic Kingdom just gives me that nostalgic feeling, the OG Disney magic.

AESTHETIC PICTURES- I think this is the park with the most places for “aesthetic” pictures, so if you’re all about cute pictures for instagram and such you will love it. I love the classic picture in front of the castle, and here is a lifehack for you, if you want pictures without a bunch of people in the background make a SUPER early breakfast reservation. You will be able to get in the park early and you can take some amazing pictures.

MEETING GASTON- The one character meet that I cannot skip. He is one of the best characters to interact with! So funny and entertaining, it is especially comical to see him argue with the little girls dressed up as princesses.

RIDES- All three mountains: Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Thunder Mountain. Space Mountain is my personal favorite, I love dark rides and I think it is a pretty smooth roller coaster. Honorable mention- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! The smoothest roller coaster in Disney in my opinion. The only reason why it is not in my top three is because it is short and there is a slower part of the ride that the thrill seeker in me could definitely go without. This is also a perfect starter coaster for younger kids.

Next up, HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS! This park definitely wins for most improved. They have added so many new things that makes this one so much more fun!

RIDES- Rock n’ Roller Coaster (the most extreme coaster in Disney) and Tower of Terror. Here is another life hack, if you can’t get a fast pass for Tower of Terror don’t stress, if you go to the park around 8:00 pm most people will be watching the shows and the line goes down tremendously. When I went about a week ago the wait around that time was about 10-20 minutes every night!

TOY STORY LAND- Such a cute addition to the park. The rides aren’t my personal favorite (Slinky Dog Dash is just too slow for me), but it is such a fun place to just walk around. The army men march around and are extremely fun to watch and interact with. The Alien Saucers are cute and make me happy because the aliens are my favorite toy story characters.

GALAXYS EDGE- Oh my gosh. I am not a die hard Star Wars but it is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Olga’s Cantina is so cool and has amazing drinks, the build your own droid store is crazy amazing, and just seeing the characters walk around make it such a fun and immersive experience. You really feel like you’re a part of the movies. The rides are also on a whole other level. Smugglers Run is super fun if you especially if you love gaming, it’s an interactive ride where you ACTUALLY drive the ship in the simulator. Life hack, GO IN THE SINGLE RIDER LINE. Trust me, it is worth it to wait less than half an hour instead of waiting in line for hours. It does close about every 20 minutes or so, but just hang around and it will open again in about 15.

RISE OF THE RESISTANCE- Yes it is a part of Galaxys Edge, but it gets its own bullet point because it is THAT amazing. It is not just a ride, it is an EXPERIENCE. Worth getting up and getting to the park right when it opens to get a boarding pass.

My all time favorite park, ANIMAL KINGDOM!!!!!

ANIMAL VIEWINGS- There is a walkway to see animals in enclosures, like tigers and otters! Also, Kilimanjaro Safari is one of the best rides there to see animals. It feels like a real safari driving around seeing lions, elephants, crocodiles, and more! This is a must do while you are there.

PANDORA- Even if you haven’t seen Avatar, you will be AMAZED by that part of the park. It is absolutely beautiful and the night blossom drink there is fire. Navi River is such a beautiful slow boat ride, but I would not stand in line for hours for it. I recommend either rope dropping that ride or get a fast pass. Flight of Passage is on a whole other level as well. One of the best rides of all time. Such a crazy amazing experience that if you miss out on you WILL regret it. I can ride it a million times and still feel the same. I love it.

LION KING SHOW- The only show that will be on my list. It is amazing and the performers are so so so talented. The singing, dancing, and acrobatics are top notch. It is also fairly short so it won’t take up much of your day, but is definitely worth it and a great way to rest your feet and be in air conditioning.

And lastly, EPCOT! Sorry to say but this is my least favorite park...

COUNTRIES- I will admit that walking around the world showcase is pretty amazing, the architecture is so authentic to each culture and it is cool to see people native to that country working there. Also, drinking around the world is a super popular way to explore the world showcase if you are 21.

RIDES- Test track, the fastest ride in all of Disney World. But it is not a roller coaster, so don’t be fooled! This ride is super fun for all ages and one my family always gets a fastpass for. Frozen Ever After is a super cute boat ride that I have a newfound love for after seeing Frozen 2.

FOOD- Epcot has some of the best restaurants, especially if you are an adventurous eater. Akershus is great for breakfast, the buffet is unreal!

So these are my favorite parts of Disney World! I could talk about Disney forever, so if there is anything else you want me to write about, please let me know! Thank you for reading!

Xoxo, Aspen
